I also prefer the natural look.

Those are beautiful pictures! I personally like the clear water pictures much better.
Gorgeous shots! The silky water look is one of those cliches we're seeing far too much of, and your beautifully composed and exposed images are a wonderful bit of proof as to how beautiful waterfalls, coastal scenes, and streams can be if left in their natural state.
Thanks - I prefer this type of water shot. With water running in real time, captured in a moment, I can imagine myself listening to the sound. I admire the technical skill of good long-exposure shots but they're not my cup of tea for viewing.

I usually do waterfalls going for a long exposure...a silky look. Some people comment and ask for water that looks more natural....more like real water. This post is for you.
Dean, Very nice shots!!! I very much prefer to see running water that looks like water with the foam and sparkle rather than stuff that ends like someone dumped a tank truck of medium or heavy cream in the creek!
Thanks for the more normal rendition. When I fist saw the long exposure images, I thought how unusual and clever. I never thought that it would become the the only way to show running water. I have spent a lifetime canoeing and kayaking on white water. It doesn't look at all like the long exposure images. Enough already. So thanks.
