Over the years, I have used photographing birds to learn photography because the conditions are so varied and challenging. To be honest, I don'y know if I have learned more about photography or birds

Awesome shots. I'd like to know the details; i.e. equipment, settings, etc. (and ditto on erbiv's comments: I'd love to just see one)

I always like seeing short eared owls especially in flight. Nice job and thanks for sharing. I am still waiting for them to show up at our local patch. They are one of my favorite bird to photograph as well.

I Use a Nikon D5300 (for now. Im saving up for the D850). The lens is a Sigma 15-600MM contemporary. The settings were !SO2000 F6.3 1/2000 of a sec. I prefer shooting more towards native ISO but I will use a higher ISO for a faster shutter speed. BIF shots Take lots and lots of practice which I completely enjoy. I would like to thank everyone who looked at and commented on my photos. I learn so much from other people.

Very nice set! I’ve been looking for owls around north of Seattle. I guess I just don’t have a good eye on finding them.

I particularly like the knife-edge wing shot in #1!

A nice set.
I prefer no.3 as it is hovering, ready to dive down onto its prey. Also the noise in no.3 seems less, although all were shot at ISO 2,000.
