Nice shots.
About an hour south of Fort Worth southwst of Lake Whitney on a ranch once owned by my late friend Jack Powell there is a three story barn built in the 1800s
by some Germans for the Pierre Lorillard (the family that still owns the original tobacco company). There is supposedly not a nail in the barn, and it stands erectly probably 100 feet high.
It is gorgeous. Because of the excellent soil, weather and water in this part of Texas, the Lorillards moved there young Thoroughbreds here from Kentucky to be raised before returning to
their highly successful racing program in the U.S. and Europe.
One of these days when I have nothing to do (ha), I want to go over and photograph the barn and other structures. The place itself is wonderful. Some 30 sections (more than 20,000 acres) with several limestone buildings. Quite historical. And in a lovely part of the state. I enjoyed several days on the ranch with Jack Powell, an East Texas oilman and World War II veteran who enjoyed racing and raising his American Quarter Horses and raising registered Hereford cattle.

Beautiful shots all of them.
Fotoartist, you and I both love saturated colors ... colors so solid that they crunch when you bite them with the minds eye
Very nice pics; very good composition and tremendous color!
Great series. While the colors are magnificent, the contrasts, especially with the clouds, would also make some great B&Ws.
I love barn shots. Beautiful!
Thanks for everybody's comments. Wasn't expecting so many. But I appreciate this forum from which I derive many ideas and inspiration like this one.
