I agree with you life is to short ,don't worry about the little things

These aren't "little things" when they invade one's everyday life in so many ways and so frequently. When we're in school, we're taught the correct usage of our native language so we'll be respected in society for proper English. If we can't even learn simple language concepts, we're in bad shape.
Most of these things are not difficult to grasp. Sometimes, our parents aren't much help if they can't even speak properly or correct their children so they'll learn what's acceptable. One cannot depend on schools to teach the kids everything.

Well, I kind of agree with you but some of the posts on this site are so poorly worded that I can't even understand what they are asking. Were they not even taught basic grammar in school?

Just wondering, looking at your avatar by chance did you serve in the Vietnam Delta? If so I wish to thank you for your service. My dad was a navy man in Korea, served on the USS John Boyle that saw service in the Vietnam War.

The one that bothers me most is using "fur" when you mean "for". I prefer people use correct punctuation. There is a difference between: "The Panda eats shoots and leaves" and "The Panda eats, shoots, and leaves".

I try to worry about the little things so I don't think about the real problems.

Some of my nailbiters is people mixing up tenses! And mixing up "principle" and principal" and, of course , "prostrate" and "prostate". Just can't conversate anymore. So...you see what I be saying?

My issue: "ax" for "ask". "I want to ax you a question."

Also, the lack of capitalization. We enter customer information into our computer and a couple of the younger employees were not capitalizing. I questioned them and their answer was that it didn't matter. I explained that it looked unprofessional and I wanted them to start capitalizing. Later, I had to show them which words to capitalize because they weren't taught how to.

The reason some folks do is because of our lisp. Yes, I took speech therapy for years and still have it. Some folks like us are embarrass to admit we have lisp and just rather let folks assume. That topic is another ballgame. I am not trying to being mean. Just explaining. 😁

A few of the previous reply posts are frustrating. When you have learning disabilites, dsylexia, lisp, etc it is different. It does not mean we are stupid. I do not think some of you realize that some of your comments come off as person is stupid.

We just see things differently. Despite my disabilities, I graduated from well respected college. I am going back to finish my master.

I am beyond passionate with this subject. Many folks with disabilites keep quiet. Not to mention the countless with chronic illness who deal with brain fog.

I am not trying to be mean.

If you like to explore:

P.S. As a Republican, this web site can piss me off at times. However, the truth of what it like having disabilites, chronic illness, etc is " right on the money" with this website.

Little things annoy me. For example, watching TV, a character will say, "My name is Lieutenant Fred McDonald." That isn't his name. His parents didn't name him Lieutenant. He should say either, "I am Lieutenant Fred McDonald" or "My name is Fred McDonald."

Another thing that annoys me is the excessive use of the word "need." "I'm going to need you to come with me." Really? When will he need that person to come with him? Watch old movies and TV shows, and you will not hear "need" used so often. We have become a very needy society.

Yes, I do find it difficult getting through each day.

I believe Ebay have started selling lives. Sounds like you really should invest in one or sit down and think how damn lucky you are to be born a white westerner with all the luxuries that go with that including the time to contemplate drivel.
