The colors up there are late this year because of the high temperatures in September and early October. Also, they will not be as good as previous years because of all the moisture dumped from two tropical storms earlier this month. The photos were taken at the highest altitudes on the BRP between 5000 and 6300 feet. Blowing Rock is only 3500 feet so it may be a few more days before the color reaches peak there.
