Does anyone use the On1 Photo Editing? If so, what do you think about it compared to other editing programs?
I have LR6 but when I load photos into computer they go to my Mac Photo Library which has limited editing. I also have Elements 11.
Please comment on what is best to use and how that my photos will be loaded into LR6.
Thanks for any help.

I use on1, and have stopped using Lightroom, Photoshop, and capture1. I do use Topaz studio. The days of My using LR to Ps have been over for a few years. While On1 still need a few things that I would love, such as support for Dual Monitors, I can process my raw images very well with it.A new version will be coming out next month. Although I am a Mac user, I have never used the Mac picture app. On 1 does it for me. I do finish them off quite often in Topaz studio rather than in effects. Funny thing is that years ago , I used On1 effects quite a lot. Now I rarely use that part of it.

You might do a search first before posting as this has been a hot topic for years. I moved from lr6 to On1 Raw as my primary program 2 years ago. There were some growing pains but unlike a couple of other apps I use they really worked hard to fix them. On1 Raw 2018 has been very stable for me on Mac. I like its browser approach for DAM as I always seemed to have problems with Lightroom catalogs getting corrupted, lost, etc. It is considerably faster than Lightroom 6 for me. They are about to release On1 Raw 2019 with new features. Worth trying.

I regularly use ON1 10.5 and Raw 2018 on a regular basis, as add-ons to my Lr and Ps workflow. All 4 programs do things just a little bit differently, but enough for me to warrant having all of them available to me. But the one program that I use 100% of the time is Lr Classic CC, followed by PS On1 10.5 and lastly On 1 raw 2018. At the moment On1 2018 is a bit "crude" and they took away some of the excellent functionality and performance found on On1 10.5, which is why I still use it. Either of the two On1 products are currently positioned as LR/PS enhancements, though their marketing materials say otherwise. Neither is a "complete" editing solution, but ON1 raw is looking pretty good - I have already pre-ordered the 2019 upgrade.

I use Adobe Lightroom Classic CC/Photoshop bundle and On1 Raw 2018. If you want your photos to go someplace other than to the Mac Photo Library, you can specify a different destination when you export the image. If you like Photoshop Elements, you should definitely consider upgrading to the most recent version - lots of nice features and a practical tool for photo enthusiasts. On1 is a great choice, too, but it may be more complex than you need. You are the best judge of what your requirements are. Good luck.

ON1 is a pretty decent program, especially at the price, and it gets much better with each new version. The new 2019 version will be out next month and it looks very promising so far.

I have used On1 for several years and it only gets better. I just purchased On1 2019 $79.00 and they have added so much more. Take a look at their web site for full info. www.on1.com

I use "ON1 Photo RAW 2018.5" all the time and it is capable of doing everything that I want to do. I have also used a number of different versions of Photoshop starting with "Photoshop 6" and up to and including "Photoshop CS6" as well as Lightroom, from "Lightroom 2" through "Lightroom 5.7.1". I still have "Lightroom 5" and "Photoshop CS6" but I seldom use them anymore. I now use "ON1 Photo RAW 2018.5" all the time, and I also have and use "Affinity Photo", "Luminar 2018" and "PaintShop Pro 2018". ON1 has a 30-day free trial available, so I would suggest that you download the trial and see how you like it. If you do like it and decide to buy it you will have the 2018.5 version and when the new "ON1 Photo RAW 2019" releases you will get the upgrade too. Like others have mentioned, each new version just gets even better. If I had to do away with all but one or two editing programs, I would stay with the "ON1 Photo RAW" and "Affinity Photo".

I use On One to supplement work in PS. I think the Effects filters are much better than PS. The masking tools in On One are very easy to use. PS seems to have gotten better with their 'healing' processes, but for a while On One was much better. The re-sizing module in One One is very, very good. (I believe they bought Genuine Fractals.)

I use ON1, and am very satisfied with the entire process, decent price, great tools, excellent tutorials on the website.
I've used PS, Gimp, and Canon software in the past, and changed to ON1 about 3 months ago. I can't remember the last time I used anything, other than ON1.

Day in and day out Adobe still rules. I do use On1, Topas, Luminar, CaptureOne and a few others as plugin programs.
