Thanks, all. Unfortunately, the roof of this three-story building had long suffered from disrepair, and the resulting leaks damaged the structure of the building beyond repair. It came to the attention of folks when a portion of the wall crumbled and fell into the street. When it was deemed unsafe and unsalvageable, there was no choice but to raze it.
As a side note, Virgil Conway’s barber shop in this building was where I got my hair cut as a little boy, some 70+ years ago. I hated having to sit up on that board so Virgil could reach me easily.
Beautiful. Lots of beautiful murals are appearing on stores ion Kingston. I'll have to get in there and take some pictures.
Great shots John, whoever did the portrait was a great artist, too bad it is wasting away.
These are great, I’m glad you took pictures before demolition...
Great photo's. I just recently came back from a cruise and found some really nice artwork on buildings in Europe and Iceland.

Thanks for looking, Mike.
I like these John, very good set. When I downloaded I saw what appears to be old photographs under the "Fly Away" banner. Did you notice them when taking these shots?

Amazing what one can find, especially if you dare and can get to it. We have some locally, but the buildings are condemned and are old
mill sights and factories. All registered in Brownsfield registry! So......I stay away. Nice catch
Great shots, John! Seems a shame to destroy these...

Thanks, Don. Yes, and I cropped the photo much smaller/larger to try to see what they were, but without success.

Thanks, Jeff. This one is right in the middle of town at a main intersection. I was fenced out--literally--but that didn’t stop the zoom on my SX 60.
