I was playing that song on the stereo and my wife mentioned that “Vera” is Latin for “truth”. I guess most people know that, but I didn’t, and I suspect Roger Waters was using this aspect in the subtext.
Vera Lynn was a singer in WWII(Active singing to this day or at least till she was around 100)
Now Vera Lynn's parents may have named her Vera for Latin.

Comfortably Numb .. One of my Turns... Hey you... Young lust.......
Most of The Wall seemed to continue the theme of Dark Side of the Moon which had themes that stress us humans out or cause some type of turmoil . Waters has said as much in an interview on Youtube. This was especially evident in Dark side of the Moon.
Some of the set list from Dark Side of the Moon.
Money,
Brain Damage,
On the Run
Time
Us and Them,
Careful with that Axe, Eugene.
The Axe was used in The Wall in One of my Turns.

Is there anybody out there?
I personally consider these albums, three of which were by Pink Floyd, to be the best produced albums of all time. (I am biased...I love Pink Floyd.)
1) Dark side of the Moon
2) The Wall.
3) Wish You Were Here.
4) I Robot. (This was Alan Parsons who incidentally did much of the Synth stuff for Dark Side of the Moon.)
