The tv has got people so afraid of each other you can’t be friendly anymore. Especially to women. I don’t think it’s because the world is more dangerous than before. FBI statistics show that in the US violent crime especially rape has declined.

I think the news has to scare people to get them to watch so they can sell you ten of what you already have so they can put food on the table for their families. The competition is fierce so they don’t check their facts well before publishing and have to retract stories all the time.

Tv shows are full of liberal BS in the story lines of the evening comedy and variety shows. I disconnected the tv. I have 7 in the house and none of them have programming any more

People are afraid of their own shadow. You can’t be friendly to women anymore they will either ignore you out of fear or accuse you of something sexual as a weapon so they can’t be trusted. I have sworn off women.

By the time a woman gets my age 50s she is damaged beyond repair. My girlfriend left me because I didn’t make enough money for her. She actually said that. I told her she wasn’t that attractive and that rich men want attractive women. I was willing to love her for her spirit not her body. I had kept that to myself for a long time. Then she kept complaining about all these things about me and I told her there were some things I didn’t like about her but I overlooked them. She demanded to know what they were and I told her her body was not attractive. Then she wouldn’t undress in front of me. I felt bad but she kept putting me down to our therapist. I feel like the things I don’t like about her are minor annoyances and not worth ending the relationship. She decided to leave me and that’s when I told her I didn’t like some things about her either.

There is this woman in the restaurant where I am seated now having breakfast. She is a member of a group of elderly people that come to socialize. I spoke to her a few times out of friendliness just as I spoke to several members of the group. They are outside my age range but I like to make friends. Next time I spoke to her we were the only ones here and she turned her chair so her back was to me so I wouldn’t speak to her. So today I am ignoring her so she doesn’t freak out.

I hate the way society has evolved.

Let me try to clarify. People who use words and ideas in their profession, that is people who have to think, have to defend their ideas and words, who live in thought, ideas and words, tend toward the left.

That is generally Authors, Newspaper and Magazine writers, professors and teachers.

Republican thought differs, as you can see repeatedly on nearly each and every post here:

Obama, bad, Trump, good, Liberals bad, Conservatives good, welfare and social safety net bad, strict 1790 Constitutionalism good, and so on. There is no rational thought to this and none is offered, even when asked.

When conservatives find a conservative magazine article that makes them feel good and posts it here, it is always illogical with holes and mis-steps in the reasoning and wild jumps in thought. If it says Obama is bad or Trump is good, it is worthy of a Pulitzer, regardless of its information or reasoning.

Now, conservatives with laugh and call names without rational response (watch for it) and deny all I say, but someone trying to find his way in today’s politics may watch all this happen and learn.

You are correct, the differences between Republicans and Democrats, between conservatives and liberals, is probably the greatest it has ever been, and we have a very great chance of losing our democracy. We need to find a body of political thought that all can agree on, but that won’t happen tomorrow.

For example, Trump is about to weaponize the Supreme Court, with the new man actually making threats of revenge and hostility rather than obedience to law.

He has already attempted to destroy the FBI, probably the most competent, honest, and responsible instruction we have, and may complete its destruction soon.

Already the Republican Party has abandoned rational thought and responsible politics and may itself not survive.

So far the military has resisted, but for how long?

If we have lost Congress and the Supreme Court, may be losing law enforcement, then lose the military, what the hell is left?

After Trump, the nation will never be the same; whether it will still exist as you and I knew it is a valid question.
