In December 2010, M and I made a cross-country circle that included the Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, and family and friends. We arrived at the Grand Canyon in late afternoon in a light snow storm and elected to stay overnight just outside the park entrance. The next morning we went back to the rim just as the sun came up, shining under low, lingering clouds for some unusual photo ops. Here's a representative one, taken with the D60 as a JPG and redone today in 16-bit with Adobe Camera Raw.
