Took this I pHone shot this morning on the dog walk looking toward the Oquirrh Mountains from our neighborhood. Cropped the bottom and here is the resulting pano. Do I really need my camera and 24 -70 mm lens?

Depends on what kind of photo you really want or need. For social media, this photo is great. If you plan on printing a billboard, maybe not. I really enjoy photography, many types, most of it is to share with my friends on social media. I currently use a Canon M50 for my main camera and am quite happy with it. I also have a Samsung S9plus which takes great photos in good light conditions. I used to take photos of properties for billboards, and other commercial situations.

Wnen my daughter showed me the panarama feature on my iPhone 7plus, I didn't know what to say. I had no idea.
It sure makes one think.
Yes, you still need your camera; and all expensive lenses---for now.

I agree that a camera is better, but these cell phones are really handy.

It makes one wonder, I have spent a say recently using my phone only and the results were more than acceptable.

Nice view.Great shot. Looks like the Pano (from an iPhone) came out great. Nice to see smokeless skies finally. Utah Valley looks good now also.

Thanks for the kind words. The smoke might add some different photo ops, but I agree with you completely. Breathing is so much better now.
