But Tuesday's just as wet. Busy day at Arches Nat'l Park.

Nicely done! Sometimes weather problems offer some of the most wonderful photo opportunities, don't they??

Quite lovely and the image of the background peeking through the deadwood is excellent.

Really like the cloudy background. Adds to the photo.

Really nice captures. The one with the deadwood in the front is the one l like best, good composition on this one.

Yes, great shot since I'm trying to understand and occasionally use hyperlocal focusing - that the method used here?

We lived in Ogden 5 y, and I always regretted not going there. Gorgeous images. Most look like the view camera work we used to see in Der Grosbild. Thanks for sharing!

Nice. When we were there, we had cloudy skies. So this is what I saw, also. I love the one of the tree. They are so beautiful - all those twists.

Technically, no. The lens used (24-120 AF Nikkor) has the distance scale, but does not have distance-to-aperture markings that would allow for gauging hyperfocal distance setting by looking at the lens. Instead, I set aperture at f/14 and manually focused using depth-of-field preview to see where everything was acceptably sharp and in focus (with foreground taking precedence). Same concept as hyperfocal setting, but done differently.

Very good advice, I'm going to practice your method!

My apologies: The magazine I was referring to was the now extinct "Grosbild Technik," AKA the Linhof magazine. It was too good for a bad reference.
And again, thanks for the beautiful images.... ~jessM

Appreciate y'alls taking a look. Which is probably a silly thing to say, me not being from places that tend to say y'all a whole lot. Nevertheless, thanks.

Up early this a.m. with a plan to head off somewhere else, but rain was too persistent and the sky was too uniformly gray to be of much use to me. Luves me some raggedy gray sky....

Cany, Love your images, the detail is simply awesome. Great DOF especially in somewhat dark weather.
Thank you for sharing.
