I remember a pub with a sign: on one side "The Black Swan"... on the other "The Dirty Bird." Or something close to that … 73... ~jessM

Nice shots. Especially WS's birthplace took me back. Your and my summer 1983 photo show the same building, but with several changes to the gardens and once-busy street.

Nice shots, Angler. Interesting to see his birthplace. Of course, opinions abound as to whether Shakespeare actually wrote Shakespeare, whether it might have just been a 'nom de plume.' Some suggest it was Christopher Marlowe who did the writing. The 'National Inquirer' says it was a Lithuanian scullery wench named Fred who spoke not a word of English, but composed all the works by throwing 'Alphabits' cereal into the air and recording how the cereal letters landed.

Others say it was an infinite number of monkeys seated at an infinite number of typewriters. I myself suspect time-traveling aliens were behind it all. However, I note neither aliens, monkeys, Fred, nor Christopher Marlowe appear in any of your shots. Maybe they were also born in Shakespeare's house--did you check the names on the deed?
