Great shots.....Saw the B-24 at Henderson Executive Airport near Las Vegas some months ago.The B-25 was supposed to be there but was a no show because of equipment problems.

Thank you very much, photophly; the B-17 was supposed to be in this one, but it, too, had to cancel out because of mechanical problems.

Outstanding photos, that sky adds such "cool" drama to the images.

Thank you very much, Dennis; yes, the sky was perfect for this.

Thank you so much for sharing these photos. My dad was a B-24 Liberator tail-gunner assigned to the Jolly Roger bomb group in the South Pacific during WWII. After his service in the Army Air Corps, he never flew in a plane again. Although I have seen photos of the "Strawberry Bitch" located at the Wright-Pat Air Force museum in Dayton, they pale in comparison to what you've captured. The photo would have been much less effective if the skies were bright and sunny. The dark day represents, at least to me, the role of these planes, the bravery of the men who manned them, and the loss of so many of those men who were sitting ducks for the enemy fighters. I wish my dad could see this picture. It would be awesome if by chance, you'd would be willing to do an encore posting of the tail of the plane, if you have it. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for sharing these photos. My da... (show quote)

Thank you so very much for the excellent photos.
I intend to pass the B25 image on to my father in law as he trained in them during WW II, eventually he transferred to a P38 to do photo recon (they were recruiting for twin engine experience). He has a soft spot in his heart for both planes.

Beautiful! My father was a B-24 pilot in the 390th during WWII. Flew 39 missions including two of the infamous Schweinfurt raids. I have some pix of his plane, the Red Hot Riding Hood, and it was beated to death......sure didn't look like the sleek beast you have here. Great pix and I totally agree about the overhead.

Thank you very much, dat2ra: I appreciate yor kind comments and info.

My dad also was a pilot of a B-24, "borrowed Time", flew 39 missions over Germany, shot down on his 39th mission, spent time as POW in Switzerland.
