Well done grandpaw... sometimes we need to venture outside our safety zone, and test the waters..... good comp and all. We are drawn fro the left duck to the right one.... nice flow.

I have a question about this shot. Had you wanted to get both birds in sharp focus, would you have 1: focused in between the birds and reduced your aperture, thereby increasing the depth of field before and after your focus point, or 2: focused on the closer bird and perform a similar adjustment? I ask because I have been presented with a similar situation and want to refine my technique. Thanks.

If I had it to do over I would focus on the first duck and used an F9 instead of the F5.6 that I did use do to be a short distance from me.
