This beauty only blooms at night and usually not opening until close to midnight. What a gorgeous wake-up call this flower gave me earlier this week. Enjoy creation in all its glory!

Thanks Jerry, haven't been on the hog for a while. Retirement too overwhelmingly busy!

Wonderful set! Most people do not know that retirement is not for sissies, it takes work to do it right.

Thanks for your eye Mike, you're right about retirement. The grandkidz are at such a unique age and I don't want to miss that.So I shoot them a lot.

What kind of flower is that? I know it's night-blooming but I don't think it's a daisy.

It's a cactus but I'm not sure of its name. Each flower is about 6-8 inches wide. It blooms in summer when I put it outside and had about 10 blossoms on it this summer. Here's a pic of the cactus taken in 2011 but I have since taken a cutting and rooted the cut. If anyone knows the name of it I would be interested to know it myself.

I did a search and I think I found it. If I did it's called a night blooming cereus.
