In Chrome, you can right-click an image and ask for "search google for image". What you get is results for similar images and suggestions that it maybe a soldier beetle. Not always perfect, but gives ideas. You can also go directly to google ( https://images.google.com/ ), from other browser types, and perform a similar search.

Thank you for the web site of BugGuide. I was going to upload a pic to see if anyone knew what it is. I saw this post and I have now sent it to them. Will report what they tell me. I hope they don't tell me it is a black and orange bug.

No, black and orange bug would be ridiculous. It is an orange and black bug.

It is indeed a blister beetle in the Family Melodidae.

Spelling should be Meloidae. Have to be careful picking them up. The secretion can cause blisters and irritation. When they occur in hay they can upset the digestion of simpler stomach animals such as horses.
