i took the mpe-65 out this morning so i couldnt get all of the linx and her dinner party.friends flew in from all over the yard
i was watching the tiny jumper when the really tiny bug landed near it.
and the last spider was hanging from the roof of my golf cart

Holy-Molly! These are insanely fabulous images. Outstanding clarity and level of detail. That MP-E 65 lens is a beast of performance. Makes me want to switch to Canon.

Wow, the download on the second image is just so good, that one takes the ribbon for me.

Beautiful pix, with great lighting. Those little scavenging flies sure find a free meal.
Yes, the mpe-65mm is pretty awesome. I rented one for a while this summer to try it. Very sharp. But it takes experience to use it this well.

The first and second shots are amazing, the mpe-65 is my favourite lens although I doubt if I’ll ever get pictures as good as these but I’ll keep trying.

I see in the specs that the minimum focus distance is about 0.8 ft. Two questions:
1. Were you about that close in the first 2 shots? and, more important to me:
2. Can you ID those tiny (!) flies in those shots?

Thanks.... ~jessM

Fabulous shots capturing some amazing drama.
Those little flies are real opportunists.
