Downsize again....
Just back from a week in Egypt. Unfortunately 550g of XE2s and 18mm f2 was too heavy. Can anyone recommend something lighter - from your own experience please.
Check out the Sony RX100, Panasonic TZ100 and TZ200. I have the TZ100 and quite surprised by the number of unexpected tricks. It takes 15 shots in half second allowing you to pick the focus on something other than your main focus. Taking 4K movies and bursts ... well if you take a 1-minute 4K video of a ping-pong game you select stills each being 8mb photos, that is 30 f/s for 60 seconds... chose from 1800 shots!
This list of cameras have 1" sensors 4x the area of other pocket compacts. The TZ100 being a yesterday model is down to less than $500... I am still learning the tricks it will do. Good book on Amazon. There is an addon which allows the use of 52mm filters increasing the versatility, about $20 EBay/Amazon.

I guess your cellphone.
Cell phones tend to get heavier with newer models. I would say hire someone to carry stuff for you.

Thanks, reading up on those now. Like the look of the TZ100 so far.
Panasonic zs100. (And now200)
Does everything. Good low light. 10x zoom. Fits coat pocket. Looks like point and shoot.

Someone has to develop a helium accessory that we can attach to these heavy cameras.
Something like the the balloon in the picture below would lighten the load and make you easier to find in a crowd.

As usual, Jerry is the source of all knowledge, few know that President Trump consults with him daily along with the daughter of Presidents Regan's Astrologer. According to his wife, President Baby B Bush often consulted with the bottom of a bottle. All three met the anti-intellectual criteria for Republican Presidents. Thank heaven that Jerry is there to moderated Trumps decisions.
Back to the specifics of the heavy camera. To reduce the heavy camera weight to about 4oz it would take 423 L of Helium Gas contained in 29 1' diameter balloons. About that same for Hydrogen 26 Balloons. Methane in comparison would take 57 balloons along with the fact that Methane is a "greenhouse" gas would rule it out.

I've been using various iterations of the Sony Rx 100 series, and recommend them strongly. There are significant changes in different models, and one or another - not necessarily the latest, bay well suit your purposes.
I adore my Olympus OMD E-Mark 5 II. In-camera stabilization that’s best in show! Weatherproofing! Wide selection of lenses! I could go on! As to weight, camera plus 14-150 lens weighs less than my old Nikon 70-200 f/4 lens alone. Very liberating!

Really? You had to turn a post about camera sizes into your political rant?
I had similar issue with my two Canon DSLR's & L lenses. Made the jump to a Sony RX10 IV for a recent river cruise. It's a phenomenal camera. Give it a look - expensive - but worth the money!!
