This is my first time seeing this and I have lived in the country since 1963. There were Butterflies everywhere.
This is fantastic. I have heard about the Monarch migration and have been told they group up and go. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience.
Piatt County, East Central Illinois.
You came into a windfall...nice captures.
Nice. Late last summer I had seen a few dozen heading south thru Gateway Nat Park, Sandy Hook NJ. That was a first for me & have been going there regularly for 15 years. Thanks for posting.
Nice pics. When I was about 7, I was out playing in the backyard. Something caught my eye, I looked up & there was a huge cloud of Monarchs flying over my yard. Have never seen it again. I am so lucky to have seen it at all. Sure wish I'd had a camera though.

Wow, great shots....i came from the area, left at 18, and do not remember anything close to this.

The Illinois Tollway Authority has been planting milkweed along their roadways for the past few years. Maybe the word is getting out in the Monarch community? Nice to see.
