Then you will be wasting money when your Z6 arrives and find out it also has a blur filter in front of the sensor.
So make sure you stick with your Nikon Z6 and pretend that it doesn't have one as you will never know the difference it seems.

Ok, I found the article. This is from a Nikon press release on August 23, Melville, NY. All I have to hang my hat on is Nikon's own words. If anyone has information to the contrary, I am open. I have no interest in buying another camera with a low-pass filter. My Fuji GFX has me spoiled.

"Primary Features of the Z7 and Z6

Equipped with a new backside illumination Nikon FX-format CMOS sensor with focal-plane phase-detection AF pixels
A backside illumination CMOS sensor without an Optical Low Pass Filter, with focal-plane phase-detection AF pixels, has been adopted for both the Z7 and the Z6. The Z7 has 45.7 effective megapixels, and supports ISO 64–25600 range of standard sensitivities (reduction to the equivalent of ISO 32 and expansion to the equivalent of ISO 102400 is also possible). The Z6 has an effective pixel count of 24.5 megapixels, and supports a broad range of standard sensitivities, from ISO 100–51200 (additional reduction to the equivalent of ISO 50 and expansion to the equivalent of ISO 204800)."

Ditto: "I do not do video, so IBIS is not a big deal for me."

I keep coming back to AF to F/11 and -6 to +18. The top 10 items on my check list for a camera are:

1 Focus System
2 Focus System
3 Focus System
4 Focus System
....
10 Focus System.

Many of the EOS R features that beat Nikon (according to the reviews so far) have to do with the focus system. Eye detect, speed of focus, quality of focus from adapted lenses. I am OK with 5 fps or even 3 fps, if the shots are in focus. And it all works with my legacy lenses including my APS-C lenses!!

It is now the best upgrade route from APS-C to FF.

I do not do video, so IBIS is not a big deal for me.

Nikon had problems with certain Lexar SD cards in the D500 after it was released. Nikon at the time did a firmware update that would detect the problem and bypass it. There was still a problem because the fix slowed down the write speed.

I switched to SanDisk SD cards in that camera and continued to use the Lexar XQDs. I don't know what the final outcome was, but you don't hear much about it anymore.

Canon was lucky. They will resolve the problem before the camera hits the street.

Hope so. Though I have an 80D now and will not upgrade for a couple years. For me the timing is great. When i am ready to go both FF and MILC, they should be ready for me.

Sony claims to be number one worldwide in mirrorless and Full Frame market

Folks check out the video from Photokina in this link with a Sony/Europe product manager. Good talking points and demo of Animal EYE-AF. Evidently Animal EYE-AF was requested by Sony Wildlife Pro shooters. But the rest of us will also love it for our pets. Cheers

Now others report there were four card failures among the invited shooters, and the Canon folks on hand were at a loss why. A PR nightmare for sure. Sounds like a camera hardware issue, and these were full production models. Oh boy.

Tony and Chelsea Northrup have over one million youtube subscribers alone, and their report does not help Canon sell these cameras at all, and BTW Tony and Chelsea always buy their own gear and never accept free gear, to remain unbiased in their reviews. And they note they always pay their own airfare and lodging for these invited events. Not the best of debuts, and all the way to Hawaii no less.

So I asked Tony. Here is his reply
