Maybe not owned but if you follow the money I’m sure you’ll find it.

The actors, costumes, props, writing, facilities, practice etc. aren’t free.

Some people will believe anything.

Yes, the new cameras are what they are. Time will tell how the market responds.

As I noted, my current inclination is to wait on refurb D850s. In the mean time my D800 and other cameras will do.

The clip is from the movie "Downfall" that is based on a memoir of one of Hitler's secretaries and follows the last days of the Third Reich. That particular clip has been used many times before; Hitler losing his Xbox, etc.

For all those who think any negative review is by folks just paid by other camera companies, listen here to Tony and Chelsea Northrup to know the truth of their impartiality and see early video clips when they used to criticize Sony, before Sony listened and improved. They aren't paid and accept no free gear from anyone. BTW Chelsea's main camera right now is a Nikon D850. Cheers

As the reviews contine I’m leaning towards going with a Z6 with adapter and 24-70 lens. That total kit is still less than a D850, even if refurbs become available. And I appreciate the weight advantage. Here’s one example:

http://www.squiver.com/blog/nikon-z7-field-report/

Z6 over Z7 because of price. The 24MP is good enough for what I do. When I do wildlife I’ll use my D5600 so I get the 24MP on target vs. the 10MP the Z6 uses for the DX area.

Still won’t be ordering till early November when I get back home so this inclination is subject to change.

Good follow up.

They are an exception to some of the “reviews” that spent more time extolling Sony than actually reviwing the Nikon (e.g. the Nazi production).

I don't know who started this "Nazi" production crap, but he should be hung by his "delicate parts" by a fine wire.

There are three interpretations of "Z" here:

1. The letter "Z" or "Zed" which should need no explanation. For years, automobile manufactures have used this a a model, designation to describe the ultimate in performance.

2. The "reverse swastika", properly called the "aswastika"or occasionally the "sauwastika" which actually looks more like the "Z" than the Nazi symbol.

3. The true swastika, an ancient sign of peace and good, adopted by the Nazi party and which, in no way, resembles "Z".

I don't know who started this "Nazi" pro... (show quote)

I suspect they just thought the Hitler thing funny. As the poster noted, there are people who don’t consider anything about Hitler or the Nazis funny. Then there was the soup Nazi...

The Z is an interesting question. I assumed F was for film and D for digital. No idea on P. They probably didn’t want to use M for mirrorless because a competitor already has. Plus it doesn’t seem compelling to identify a product by what it doesn’t have.

Then there is the question of why they started at 6.

I suspect only a marketing person could unravel these mysteries of the universe.

Reviewer Kinotika was just at Photokina and in new video along with Jason Vong and That1cameraguy discusses the good and the bad.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4ipxrOCgwA

Kinotika reports that the Nikon Z cameras have two real problems, lots of rolling shutter in 4k video; and a real latency issue with the EVF which can not keep up in video shooting, so you cant really follow your subject.
