Flying back from Anaunethad Lake (Inuit for Artic Hare Lake)
in Canadas Northwest Territories. We were in a Dehaviland
Otter float plane. This just shows how the glaciers have carved
out the landscape along time ago. There are millions of these
lakes, most arent very deep others are very deep, 90% are all
connected and will finally empty in to Hudson Bay. Raining off to the left.
Dont know how far to the horizon, we are at about 2000ft
Lots of fish.

I'd bet the farm that the Amazon doesn't get as cold as here in the winter, there is 5 feet of ice on these lakes.
Thanks

Last time I was airborne in an Otter. I landed before the plane did. LOL.
Wish now I had a camera with me then. Panoramic views from under a parachute...

Beautiful picture - almost makes one start day dreaming of better places up north.
Good photo. I was thinking that looked like the approach into Tuktoyaktuk, but remembered that most of NWT looks like this. How are the mosquitoes?

Thank you Sir, this isn't as far north as Tuk but like you say the NWT pretty much looks the same. You should know about the mosquitoes if you've been there, the flies that I hated the most were what we called sand flies, little dinky things. They attack the back of your neck and you can't feel them. Just wake up the next am with a big red ring on the back of your neck. And then there is the horseflies, we called them bulldogs when they took a chuck out of you they left a divot. Very pretty place.
Thanks Again
