Hello I am a new user, in love with the art of photography, because of the passion and the creativity that is put into it. I started being interested in photography about, what I believe to be, 4 years ago. But, I used other peoples cameras or cell phone cameras, which turned out well considering the poor quality. They were very different, but the pictures still turned out as I had hoped. Now, I have a point and shoot camera made by Kodak, and I am saving up for a better camera. I came to this site, suggested by a nice man, who came into my Dad's shop. I will post pictures that I have taken for your enjoyment and hope you like them. :) Thank you! Nice to meet you all. Have a great day.

welcome, you will find this site full of interesting and talented people. I have to say, your introductory post is so well mannaered, I feel the need to bow.!!!! I love your monster truck action shot, but that image clashes with how i see you based on your writing. sunset shot has beautifal colors also. You mentioned your dad's shop. what kind of business He owns?

Thank you for those kind words :). Yes I see your point. But, I do enjoy taking pictures in different (fields of photography) to interest other viewers, with different liking's. I find myself taking all sorts of pictures that do not fit the same category's . Haha :). My Dad is a gunsmith, we own a gun shop, A strictly classic gun store.

you are in my favorit part of the country, finger lakes region. Been up there a few times for the finger lakes wine festival in july near Seneca lake. great area for photography. trees must be in full color up there by now. Not here in DE. I started with a nikon D50, now have a D7000. It's all I need for now! well at least my better half thinks so!!
check my blacksmith photos.

Elanor. If you are serious about photography, get yourself a tripod. Don't get one that is made out of plastic material. They break a lot. I noticed on your scenic shots that your horizon is not straight. This can be corrected in a photo editor program. Do you have such a program?

However, keep shooting. Take more than one shot of each subject you shoot. They say that film is cheap, but Digital cameras shots are cheaper.

Here is your picture straightened and lightened a little.
I used Photoshop Elements 9 for the corrections

Much better. Are you using a tripod? The photo seems to be sharp.

Great going.

Thanks everyone for the tips! I do use photo software but at the time of posting I hadn't thought to straighten it! Thank you for your suggestions and help! I need to get a job before I can spend money on a nice tripod. Thanks again!
