Out with the Old...

Using a D70s, D5100, and D7000, I had to stop and think what controls and buttons were located where. If there's one thing I don't like to do it's think. So, I kept the D7000 and sold the other two. Then I got another D7000.
Now my two cameras have the same controls, and I can set them without having to think (ugh!). I can go out with a tele on one and a W/A on the other, and I have one less camera to store and take care of. My wife loves it when I get rid of things. :D

Yes. I'm going to experiment with settings and see what I like and then set them both the same. Eventually, I should be able to make adjustments without thinking. I have OP/Tech straps, one black and one blue, so I will be able to tell which camera is which. When I use the OP/Tech dual sling, I'll have the tele on the right and the W/A on the left.

on a serious note, i have thought many times just to buy another 7d and put the 24-70 on one and the 70-200 on the other and live happily ever after.......

I wish a my Nikons had the controls in the same place.
I like the layout of the D700/D300/D200 (all very similar) better than the D7000 ( very different). The D7000 mode dial has gotten bumped more times than I like.

Have considered selling my 50D and upgrading to another 7D for the same reason. I really like the 7D! But then I think I MIGHT like a FF camera. The price of a FF scares me though and I can't justify a FF for the type of shooting I do which is 98% nature, mostly BIF.
When I thinks I gets a headache!

Me, too! :D
Having a larger, heavier, more expensive FF camera would not get me any better pictures, but every time I picked it up, I would ask myself why I spent so much for something I didn't need. My two D7000's cost less than a D800, which I could not justify buying.

It would be great if camera manufacturers paid close attention to making cameras work the same way in the same line.
