I still have the Canon 400 DO II f4. I very recently bought the Canon 300 2.8 II lens which is about the same size and weight (9 ounces heavier). The 300 2.8 II is razor sharp and the photos
are brighter with close focusing to about 6.5 feet. I am very happy with it.
