Cuba: What equipment to bring?

In May, my wife and I went on a small-ship cruise that circumnavigated the island, and we had a great time. The Cuban people were very friendly and willingly had their pictures taken (without asking for payment -- the exception were those that dressed up for posing, and we ignored those). We were normally with a small group, but I spent a considerable amount of time wandering the streets of Santiago and other towns/cities on my own, and never had any issues or concerns.

I carried a Sony a6000 and 4 lenses in a backpack, but rarely took the 16-70 f/4 off my camera. You will need a wide angle for street shots, which will probably make up most of your images. There are endless photo opportunities of all kinds, from the colorful old American cars and historical sites to the dilapidated old buildings in the cities and horse-drawn carts common in the countryside.

I think some of the security worries expressed by some in earlier posts are overblown. If you are careful and act reasonably, you too will have a great time in Cuba.

I will be touring Cuba in January 2019. I am a senior (very) amateur photographer who just wants to record nice memories of my trip. I have a Canon T2i with 18-55 , 18-250, and a 50mm. I also have two really nice pocket cameras: a Fuji F70 EXR--(small with 10x zoom), and a Canon S95 (small with an f2.0 lens).

Although I know that the dslr will give best results, I have concerns about weight (both equipment and me), theft, and big-brother. I think that the two smaller cameras may do the job.

Any recommendations from someone who has been there?

I was there last week and no one even looked at me when I took photos. It is a very friendly and seemed safe to me.
