The pictures I am posting were taken when I was in Vietnam. I remember taking a lot of pictures but don't remember taking these exact shots. I think I had a Minolta camera back then and only took slides. I haven't looked at them in 50 years, main reason I didn't have a working projector or screen. I was talking to my brother and he was reproducing some old slides with a converter that he got cheep. He decided to get another one and sent it to me. Truthfully it was a piece of crap, images were less than tolerable. I decided to see what I could do with my DSLR and a makeshift light table. The last picture shows the set up. Slides were placed on a white translucent plexiglass and a speed light under it. Speed light was too strong even at its lowest setting so I placed toilet paper over the light. You are seeing the results. I'm not posting because of great pictures but I thought they might be interesting to some old vets that were over there.
Jim

BTW I was Army Engine repair and flew all over the country. After posting I noticed several could use a cleaner cropping, next time.

From what I understand, it's a beautiful country. However, that was not the best of times to visit.

It wasn't one of my preferred destinations.

As far as I can remember I never stopped at either Ahn Khe and Bong Son. Don't feel sad I don't mind.

I've visited Vietnam twice and it *is* a beautiful country. Kennedy didn't learn from the French experience there and sent in troops justifying it with the discredited domino theory. A lot of people on both sides were killed or messed up by agent orange; a lot of cultural treasures were destroyed and with what result? Vietnam is Communist and our "friend."

Sorry if I brought back bad memories. As I was trying to remember the places I was stationed at I went to YouTube and saw some videos of the different locations taken during 1966 & 67. Now those brought back some scary times. I really got into them and had to go outside and take a breather, ok now.

I have a little bit of everything but nothing on the battlefield. I'll probably leave them sit again for a while.

No Communist country is our friend.
