My wife and I made a major 50th-anniversary National Parks drive in 2013. After Glacier NP, we headed north toward Banff NP up 95, then 93 to Castle Junction and Canada 1.
Headed east on 93 and down toward CJunction and CA-1, we stopped at a scenic corner to take this photo, which I think was of the Sawback Range, the SW side of Banff NP.
At the stop was a plaque noting that some earlier well-known photographer had made the scene somewhat famous.
Might anyone here know the name of that photograper?

You might try looking up photogpher Nicholas Morant. There is a chance that it might be him.
Nicholas Morant was a prolific photogtapher working out of Banff, mainly for Canadian Pacific Railway. There is a famous railway curve near Banff/Lake Loiuse named after him.

Yes, so many opportunities over the years to do great photography in the Banff surrounds. But, so far, nothing shows the same scene, just more about the railroads and the rivers.
