While these are excellent printers, they can not print 17 inches wide. A quick check at the Canon website reveals two printers, the pro-1000 (17 inches, $1099 after rebate) and the PROGRAF iPF670E (24 inches, $895). The remaining Canon printers either don't print 17 inches wide or cost $3695 up.
I have the Canon Pro-1000 and it's a great printer that will do the job for you. It's got large ink cartridges that last a long time. The print head won't get clogged up because of the way the head parks when finished printing. It comes with software that will allow you to track the cost of each print job so that you can see if you are making a profit. Uses pigment ink instead of dye ink. It's wireless and was way easier to setup than the Pro-100. There is a rebate that brings cost of printer down. Very wide format. Canon has a plugin that makes printer easy and also makes it easy to use icc profiles of just about any paper that you buy that has icc profiles or profiles that you can make with your calibration tools.
