Reminds me of the advice I read as to how to protect against shark attack while in the ocean. I read that one is supposed to strike the shark sharply with a blunt object preferably something other than your hand (!) [Am I supposed to carry a mallet with me whenever I swim in the ocean??] Seems to me you have to believe you are fast enough to grab the skunk by the tail and lift him up before he reacts. I'll stick with avoiding them as much as possible.
