What Mike just said, outstanding Angela!

Many thanks, nim!! This has been a record breaking year with the amount of Monarchs I've raised and have seen in my garden... I had to buy 2 more plants just so I'd have enough leaves!!
Glad you liked!

Angela, thank you for the seeds and I have seen a couple of Monarchs but were not able to get any photos. FYI, this update is awesome and unexpected. You have been missed by many UHH members.

Greg

Thanks so much, Greg, for your kind words... always appreciated!!! If you need more seeds, let me know, I have plenty!! These little critters certainly keep me busy and I can't believe how fast they eat and grow!!! Many more to finish raising and then the rest have to take care of themselves!!
Take care and hope all is well!!

Your little babies are growing up. Nice image Angela.

Thanks so much, Marty!! They eat and grow so fast, I can't believe it... thankfully Peconic Herb Farm still had milkweed plants... I bought two more!

You're doing such good work with these, Angela. And good photography also! I cannot imagine the amount of leaves you have to cut every day!

Thanks Kathy!!! It's amazing how much they can eat!! Last night I ran out and took about 8 big leaves, for their evening meal... by morning, nothing but poop all over!!!
Since I'm not home today, I put in about 20 leaves this morning, hope that satisfies them until I get home... then they should be ready to J-Hook!!

These creatures need all of the help that they can get. We live along the Bay shore near Door County Wisconsin. We let the milkweed grow along the shore and have had quite a few of these Monarchs.

Thanks, Jerry... that's awesome that the milkweed grows wild by you, we have it here on the sides of the road, but fear with the aerial pesticide spraying that does more harm than good.... that's why I plant my own and take them inside my house until they emerge and are safe to fly off!!

And you are so right, they do need all the help they can get!!!

This is great that you are raising these Monarchs! Are you tagging them as well? Citizen scientists provide a lot of data to further help the Monarchs. Check out

There are YouTube videos to watch. I just tagged my 1st Monarch 2 days ago. It's very easy.
Great picture!

Thanks, birder, for your visit and comment.... I never ordered the tagging kit last year, wish I did.... I'll try to remember for next year!! I still have approx. 20 more to go!! We've been very blessed on Long Island with seeing them all over, this year.... and I see them daily in my garden!!

...and thanks for the link and good luck with your Monarchs!!!!
