"I'm sorry" says the maître d', after scrutinizing the group, "but you can't come in here without a Thai".
I was brushing my teeth when I read this and snorted toothpaste up my nose
Best one ever on this forum....
I'm curious, did each person announce their country as they entered the restaurant or did the maitre d' come to a conclusion based on visual observation?

"Groan!" But still a good one...👌👌
Since this IS a joke, I sincerely HOPE your question is meant as a lighthearted joke as well. Just saying.

Booooo on you. There's always one, or two in this case. Just saying.
And we loved the Canadians so much that we let two (2) of them come?
Apparently, you don't frequent high-end restaurants often. The maitre d' in those places are extremely skilled and capable.

The first variation of this joke that I saw had them all walking into a bar (and there was no maitre d' line after that). The caption underneath was " Leo Tolstoy tells a joke."
