Okay...checked out the EOS Rebel T6i and it seems to fit with what you've said. Just barely in the price range...so I'll give my husband mine, and I'll get the new one.

I deserve it! lol

This sounds like the decision unless some big flaw presents itself.

Thank you!

Please google for any camera clubs in your area, they can be an endless source of practical information and possibly mentored photography assistance. Good Luck in your venture.

Good idea, Jim! Are you sure they won't laugh when they find out about all I know about photography is which end of the camera to point? lol

Great suggestion! I have a friend who could do that, too. New town. No friends yet.

It’s a good way to meet new friends quickly. There is certainly no lack of conversation with photographers. lol

One reader suggested an online introduction to photography. THAT may be a good place to start, so when I DO find a class in town, I won't be using words like "thingy"! I should have at least expanded my technical vocabulary a bit!

Check with any camera clubs in your area for instructors or classes ... or come to Albuquerque, NM and take my class.

Albuquerque?? Nah. lol lol

We left Truth or Consequences 12 years ago after living there a year and a half. That was enough for me. I need the Ocean! And Forests to explore. I can honestly say the only high point to living there was becoming friends with the Chief of Police and his wife when I was a member of the Rotary Club there.

Here's an idea, though! Why don't you move to Corvallis, Oregon and do a class HERE! You would love Oregon!
