There just doesn't seem to be enough of them to call it a wind farm.

They do look somewhat "scraggly". Result of bird droppings, maybe?

Nice shot! There's a wind turbine practically in my backyard. It's like having a Martian from 'War of the Worlds' looming over the trees, and quite truthfully, if it fell over and wasn't put back up, I wouldn't be sorry.

Thanks for looking and commenting Stephan and Treepusher. It was quite a calm day on Saturday. Thus, little, if any, movement of the blades. There's actually another row of these in the area, but, again, just not really enough to call a it a farm.

Treepusher, does that turbine near you make noise when operating?

Thanks, John. We got a bit of a chuckle out of the phrase at the time.

Yes, it does. A low-frequency throbbing whoosh as the blades cut through the air. The sound has been linked to various illnesses, depression, and a general grouchiness by those in the immediate area. I'm far enough from it that it's merely annoying, and it really doesn't bother me much (I'm always grouchy, got nothing to do with the windmill, lol...). There are also evidently health issues with the birds and animals nearby.

I find them beautiful, but they've been called a pestilence and blight on the landscape, and there are numerous lawsuits by the homeowners under its shadow. There are a group of four of them arranged so that I only see the closest looming over the trees in my yard. Those unfortunate enough to live closer and in its immediate shadow have filed a number of lawsuits, and understandably so. The strobing with the sun/shadow as the blades turn is completely intolerable, would drive anyone to the point of insanity, never mind the low-frequency throbbing of the blades.

"...would drive anyone to the point of insanity". Take it from me, iIn some cases, that wouldn't be a far drive.
