Will be in Denver CO Saturday of Labor Day weekend with free time from dawn till about 4 o’clock. Any suggestions on some good photography areas. Thanks.

Personally I’d have to head towards Rocky Mountain National Park. Then again I’m a National Park fan ....
I was watching a video of Brendan van Son, a travel photographer, laying out his approach to shooting a city with limited time - link below. One of his first steps was to go to Google images and see what others are shooting. He then went on to figure out how to best portray those sites. For Denver, in addition to the city shot, the airport, train station and a few other areas come up a lot as well as a few interesting sculptures/modern art. Red Rocks & RMNP are both near, but not near enough for your timeline.

Shutterbug57 is correct, there is a lot there to shoot but it is not all within a small area - travel will eat up most of your time so plan what you want to shoot and do some mapping to get your travel organized!
continued: RiNo, Red Rocks, Roxburo. I hope my previous one of buildings came through: Denver Art Museum, Kirkland Museum, Stiles Museum, Denver Public Library, Civic Center, Union Station, DCPA and sculpture behind near Spear Blvd. Confluence Park. Museum of Science and Technology and city park Have fun...
In the downtown area are the capitol building, civic center building, 16th Street Mall, Denver mint just to name a few. Those alone could take up to 1/2 a day. The Denver Museum of Natural History and Denver Zoo aren't too far from downtown, at City Park.
Colorado Springs with Garden of the Gods and Air Force Academy Chapel, 50 miles south of Denver. Drive up Lookout Mountain road, just west of Denver on the first foothill, gives an over view of the whole area from 2,000 feet above, and Buffalo Bill's grave. You can do all of this in your timeline. The smoke right now is just terrible, worst all year. Hope the winds come to blow some of it out. Good luck, and RMNP is way too far for you to get any real photo time.
Almost TMI, but thanks to all.
