Thanks for the suggestions, but can't help it to make less distracting, because the bird was on the boundary wall, beyond which, i have no control to make the background less distracting. The metal pole is light post, Govt. property India. Moreover, I was neither ready, nor prepared with appropriate lens, for the shot.

In some of the photos, the metal pole is more the main subject than the bird. Maybe a different camera angle so that there are trees and greenery behind the bird.
