I have a few friends that all fly DJI and have given me good advise on do's and don't's
the first thing I did was charge everything up, then did the latest updates of firmware.

First flight and you didn't crash it? That's a good thing. My friend Jim D lost his drone last Wednesday when the battery failed mid flight. It crashed on the rocks over a cliff. We couldn't get down there fast enough to retrieve it before the tide came in. I have a Mavic Pro too.
One thing I always tell newby's is to download the latest firmware for the drone, controller, and each battery that you have. Do this before you fly it for the first time.
