Given the price of Canon replacements can anyone suggest an off brand that you have been happy with. Please respond only if you've tried and had success or fails with replacement for canon lpn6. Thank you.
I have used Wasabi for years for a variety of cameras. Never had a problem.
B&H sells The Watson brand and I’ve got a few and have been using them in my both cameras for several years with no problem. They also have the same brand chargers.

Do you mean the LP-E6N Battery? Which camera? I only use Canon batteries. I have 6 of them. When I purchased My Canon 7D Mark II from B&H it came with an extra battery which was B&H's Watson brand. The camera never read the amount of remaining power in that battery consistently or correctly and I got far fewer shots with it than with the Canon OEM batteries.. A second copy of that battery did no better. I would not recommend Watson batteries based on my experience with my specific camera.
Yes same camera. Thanks for the input

Other people seem to have no problem with the Watson's. I can only only give you my specific experience.
Many people seem to favor the Wasabi batteries, I have no experience with them, but the number of positive comments I've seen over time may make them an acceptable alternative.
Be careful what you choose. Some brands seem to have varied communication issues with certain Canon models and battery grips. Judging from the lack of attention to detail I often see on the site, I assume that some of the reports of 3rd party batteries brands being equal to or even better than Canon OEM batteries are based more on perception than on accurate comparative testing.

I have been using Kastar batteries and chargers and have been very happy with them.
I buy them on eBay, and only the ones that show "kastarusa1" as the seller. That's the manufacturer.
Kastars and ANY other brand, including OEM batteries, can be countefeits, so watch out for oddball sellers.

I can only report the results I've had using two Watson batteries, bought at different times, with my specific copy of the 7D Mark II.

Get the Wasabi LP-E6 battery and it comes with the charger it’s already has the decode chip for your Canon 7Dmk2 you can get two of them for half of the cost of a Canon battery, I own four of these batteries for four years now and still going strong.
I have used Kastar batteries for several of my Canon cameras. Good battery and the company stands behind them. You can also buy them on Amazon.
PowerExtra batteries for my T6 and 77D work great and have a much higher capacity (mAh) than the original Canon batteries.

I order the BM Premium from Amazon. Came with two batteries, a USB charger (can charge in car, etc) for $30. So far I've been very happy with them - they charge faster than the OEM Canons and appear to last longer during use (with my Canon 7D mII).
