Great shots,it's a shame to see buildings like this going to rack and ruin. The same goes on over here and nobody seems to care.
Thanks very much, angler! The police use to patrol there but have not lately,I guess due to budget cuts. I wish we could put a stop to it everywhere.

Too bad place was let go until it's probably too far gone to restore.
You are right photophile. The people that own the property should have never let it get to this state of decay. Thanks much for looking and commenting.
Great interior shots-- evocative and haunting. And maybe haunted...? Beautiful capture! And from the look of the place, I hope you wear a hard hat when you go in there. We don't want traumatic encephalopathy in Hedgehogs!
Great shots Wizz! Is it safe to go up on higher floors or better just to stay at ground level?

This is an old TB hospital that has been closed since 1982.Unfortunately it is just sitting there and falling apart.Over the years the vandals have destroyed it,I wish I could catch them in the act. I love to go there and get some shots when I can. These are pictures of the childrens hospital. So sad.
Great Pix and as everyone else commented "Shame"
What city is it in?
Ian
I've always wanted to do pictures like these, especially since there are an abundance of opportunities for this kind of thing. I'm from Sullivan County NY, some of you may be familiar with the Catskill hotels, where I live is actually where all of them are abandoned and like similar to this. There has only been one photographer who has gone one of them to take pictures, this because these places are still very much owned by someone and are considered "private property" (one of his relatives owned the particular hotel) though it's very unlikely the owners themselves have seen them in maybe decades.
I've been trying for about a year now to find owners so i can access them with permission and not illegally but i haven't had any luck.

Very nice Wizz, what a shame for this hospital to fall to ruin
I think shots of abandoned buildings are so interesting!!! Yours are really good.

Great shots. Keep recording that place before it is destroyed. Your local historical society would love to have those photos for their arcives.

Hi Wizz, great pictures, i also love abandoned buildings but it is a shame as you say that the vandals always seem to find them first.
Where is the fun is ruining objects that have a silent story to tell.
Would it be alright if i downloaded no.2 and had a play in photoshop
Thanks much, creativ simon! Such a historic place, but the vandals just don't care. Yes you can have some fun with this image,I would like to see what you come up with.Thank you for asking first!

Hi Wizz, downloaded picture No 2 and manipulated it a little in Photoshop CS5. Also changed the framing to a square format
giving you a different perspective. I personally still prefer your original as it shows the abandoned building in its true state where as mine doesnt. But thank you for giving me the opportunity to play
