Nice shots. Always have fun in Oshkosh - more so this year since I splurged and rode on Aluminum Overcast. I'll probably never 'really' get through all I took. I have a handful on FB and posted some others on the hog. I sometimes get lucky with props, but it's usually good props and blurry planes or sharp planes that have flame-outs!

Dazzling shot, the biplane and its smoke trail. And the YAK 110--never saw anything like it! Wonder if it will work as an acrobatic airframe.

These are beautiful! I had a neighbor close to 35 years ago and he went to Oshkosh ever summer. He took his entire family on vacation for the event. I forgot how long it lasts. He had never flown nor anything other than interest in planes. The last plane I flew on was C130. Again marvelous shots.

Fantastic shots, but have living on an Air Force training base during WWII, the correct nomenclature of what you call the T6 Texan is AT6. Many of them lost to trainees. I can't recall the nomenclature of the Navy version, but wasn't T6. I also recall planes like the P38 and the auto gyro. And as far as electronics go, I was fascinated by the spark gap transmitter. But with the end of WWII, my stepfather was out of a job (he was on the crash crew) and we had to move.

Have taken note of the Illawarra details and will check it out. Only aerial show I’ve been to is the one at Temora - approx 4 hrs drive for me. Illawarra could be closer but ai doubt it! But the Temora show did not have the variety you have shown. Mainly spitfire’s and have to rely on weather as to if and when they fly! Look wpforward to ore of your ohotos in the future. Thanks for sharing.

I know England isn't Australia, but I will mention the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) and the Farnborough Airshow. I haven't been, but every summer there are unbelievable images of the RAF bombers and fighters that appear on the various photography sites I follow. Hopefully, Illawarra or something similar will get you out to the airfield.

These are beautifully done. I look forward to many more postings of the show. Thank you , Paul. How do I access the EXIF? I can't seem to get that info.

Thank you gray_ghost2, glad you enjoyed! The EXIF data for each image can be obtained by clicking the URL title of each image. The host Flickr page should launch were the camera and lens data is available.

All very good pictures! Thanks for sharing. I have a friend who goes there every year to "work". I'm sure it's good fun too!

Thank you jvangorp! I've found some wonderful images from the links on the EAA site. There were some awards and formal dinners during the week that the photographers captured that I had nothing to do with and wasn't even aware. There's also some wonderful plane to plane photography from the official photographers.

Thank you Bill, glad you enjoyed! The RV community was out in force in the campgrounds at Oshkosh. I was in a backpacking tent and was amazed at the large, comfortable tents most everyone was using, when not in the RVs. Hopefully, you'll get there in some summer soon.

Thank you Greg! It took me more than a week, actually nearly 2 full weeks to edit on a daily part-time basis. Hopefully, you're getting closer to being done than being started. The 2018 images are a simplified workflow based entirely on Lightroom were previously I first did a RAW conversion in Canon's software. I still ended up with a lot of tweeks to the WhiteBalance. I still had lots of images (now culled) where I wondered what I or the camera thought I was focusing on.

Thanks AZ Dog! I spent an entire day doing keywords on images and learned a bit more about the process of syncing the keywords across images in LR, some of it learned after the images were posted and started to be shared. I knew the Texans had different names, but I didn't always know which organization's plane had which name, like the RAF had Harvards and the Navy had SNJs. At Oshkosh, the T6's with all their various names were a featured plane, flying in groups of 20+ on several different points during the week.

Thank you Gregger! I drove up from Chicago, but met many, many people who flew in for the event. I spent a lot of time with the owners / pilots of the vintage planes, some images I'll share over the next few days.

Thank you Robert! They made a big deal about the YAK 110, a custom-merged plane created from two YAK 55s. They had it on display, it flew multiple times, and announcer provided a lot of background comments on the pilot and plane as it flew.
