I try to do all the PP of a photo in one pass. Most of the time though, I find an item or two that I missed
and that will bother me if not corrected. This photo of two balloons at sunrise had an item that I felt needed
processing and it bothered me enough to revisit the photo. I'm not saying that there might not be some
other adjustments that could be applied ... It's just that I have reached the point where I can accept
the second photo as is.
I thought I was finished ...

The End justifies the Means. Nice image.
Why not clear the bushes on both sides of the gondola? You are right - it does benefit from having some clear space round it.
Interesting that you asked ...
I looked at that and had decided that the right edge of the gondola, which is bright on that side didn't suffer from the darker trees and removing the trees might even cut down the contrast at the edge of the gondola.
I’d remove it - the gondola will then have freedom and height.
Huh - is it my monitor or is there purple fringing around the clouds in the upper right?

It's not your monitor. I can't say for sure but I'm pretty sure that is the way the sunrise looked.
Perhaps I'll go back to Kenya and check.

OK, now there's two of you suggesting that I should have removed the tree at the right of the
gondola. I have done it and yes, I should have done it originally. Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried to move the balloon higher. If you do not mind I can show my result.

Speaking as one Image Editor to another ... your's is not bad. You solved the balloon lines in a way that I had not thought of. I'd clean up the clone stamp traces, it's a shame to put in the work and then leave obvious "fingerprints" (that's why I asked that you post the Download). While I was waiting, I tried my own hand. I ran into the balloon lines and really wasn't sure how to handle them. I think you did an overall better job on the gondola than I did but I erased the clues better than you. I solved the problem of running out of sky at the top by shrinking the balloon a bit.
Overall very nice, I'm sure there are people who will stare and wonder how the heck we did it. Thank you for your work on the photo.
PS .. I just looked over my image and found some "Fingerprints"; I will remove them forthwith. One more thing … I used ELEMENTS 9; what program did you use?
I'd also fix the right edge of the Gondola - it's missing.
