Has anyone had experience with the Tamron 18-270 lens?

That has been my primary lens for a number of years. I have been very pleased with the lens as the focal lengths cover 80% of my normal shooting requirements.

I had one for a Sony A77 and I was happy with it. When I changed to Nikon I got the Tamron 16 to 300 and have been quite happy with it, too.
Caveat: Your happiness may vary! 😊

I had purchased that lens from a private seller. Shortly after I bought it, it began to creep like crazy. I sent it to the Tamron service center and they told me that it was in normal specs for the creeping issue. It drove me nuts. I sold it to Adorama and I purchased the Tamron 18-400 mm. I have been very happy with that lens and no creep.

Although I do not own that lens, I investigated getting one (used) as a replacement for my Tamron 18-250. I found that there are 2 versions of 18-270 on the market. Check which version you are considering, and do your homework.

It's a great DX lens. I have one, used for quite a while. It's for sale, BTW. I switched to FF.

I have not used this lens, but I think we can all agree Tamron is the best lens company. Their focus is on lenses not cameras, so their products are well built, durable and optically near perfect. Tamron’s zooms define versatility. You cannot go wrong with a Tamron product. I have come to this conclusion after extensive research and personal experience.

My daughter-in-law gave me a Tamron 18-270 (Nikon mount) about a year ago. I love it. Relatively small and compact, it makes a great walk-around lens. It gets excellent reviews and is priced right. It comes with a 5-year warranty but YOU MUST keep your store receipt showing your purchase information to register it for the warranty. I tried to register mine to get the 5-year warranty but I didn't have the sales receipt because it was a gift and my daughter-in-law doesn't save receipts. SO KEEP YOUR PROOF OF PURCHASE.

we had on. It worked great on a canon 70d but wouldn't work with a new 77d. we tested with different bodies and we also test with different lens.

I have used the Tamron 18-270 on my Nikon and have found it very good on trips to Europe and the western states. It tends to slip down when hung from the camera but an added band on the lens stops that. It's not too heavy and it is a great walk around lens. Here is a shot I took in Holland with it.

All superzooms have lenscreep, that's why there's a lock on the barrel.
