This post is days 7 and 8 after hatching. The chicks continue to develope at a fast rate. The parents continue to bring food and remove poop at a fast pace. The chicks are just about covered with feathers and the flight feathers show remarkable growth. Their eyes are wide open and cognizant of their surroundings.
The female has not sat on the nest day or night. The chicks are now moving up in the nest and standing on the edge. The first visit to the nest by the parents is about 7 am with the last at late twilight. Both days the chicks hunkered down in the nest at night.
I’m getting an education with this. Thanks.
