just courious,
on a mid format camera ,if the pixles were 1/5 th size of the standard pixle, and a current 40megepixle camera then had 200 of the smaller pixles would that give better I.Q.?

What is a standard pixel? Medium format digital camera usually have larger pixels than smaller sensor cameras. Smaller pixels do not give better I.Q. Sensors with larger pixels have a better signal to noise ratio.

By "size" you must mean "area". If the linear dimensions were 1/5 of whatever a standard pixel is, a 40 megapixel camera would have 1 gigapixel.

The IQ does not necessarily correlate with the pixel dimensions or number. There are a lot of variables involved.
