The horizon mixed with a cloud layer of ash from all the fires here in Central Texas made for the most brilliant sunrise I've ever seen...my prayers to those who have lost or will lose their homes. These shots were taken from my driveway.
Struggling to obtain the sun's true color without losing the background
True color at the expense of losing the background due to contrast
Great shots tinged with tragedy.
As a transplanted Texan, my heart goes out to those who have suffered loss.
Pray for rain.
Eric
Well said my friend...well said
Is that a bird in the middle of the sun on that second picture? They are beautiful pictures and so sad to hear of the loss of so many homes and trees. We had a beautiful sunset here in MI tonight. Almost looked like the whole western sky was on fire.

Hi sugarpenny...yes that was a real bird. Didn't know until I viewed it on the computer.
Beautiful, that bird show the endurance during trial we all need to have.
Nice shots! Might also be a good subject for HDR to bring out a little more of the horizon and foreground and add dimension and relation to the sun.
