The TG 5 is a great little hard to kill camera, I use it during kayaking and love it. Now as being certified scuba diver, this camera is limited to depth? You can buy a housing for it so that it can go deep. Into the wrecks and so on. Most divers that are retired like myself do not hit this limits of recreational dives of 130 anymore. Good luck, this is a compact little camera that can get the job done🐾🐾👣
I have used a TG-5 snorkeling in the Virgin Islands. There are 2 underwater settings one for shallow and one for deeper water, this setting takes a lot of the blue out of the picture and improves the color. It also take 4K movies. My choice would be the TG-5. I also used a Cannon A75 I bought off ebay for $5. Yes it had a know defect so I sent it to Cannon they repaired and sent it back for free. It has to have purple streaks in the display for the defect. You can find the under water housing on EBay. I do not know the cost.
I don't have one, but I sure would look at the Panisonic DCTS7. It has a 20.4 meg high res sensor and an electronic 1.17m dot view finder. I know of no other camera of that size with a view finder. I have missed shots with small cameras outside because I couldn't see anything in the LCD screen.
