Which state has the cutest squirrels?
Ivan, great shots. Especially the last one with the catch light in the little guys eye! Please share some technical information with us such a lens, f stop, etc.

I do not have any secrets but these photos were taken with several different cameras of nonprofessional kind with built in lens.I simply do not pay any attention or care for any technical data (most of my metadata is deleted during download and I never look what is left). My motto is "go with the flow and do what is necessary to achieve your goal".I am not trying to give you a smart Alec answer, that is how I work, honest.Cameras involved were I think Canon PRO90IS (only 2.6 mega),Minolta DiMage 7Hi and Panasonic TZ10.
Here is my little moose watching buddy I made last summer when I was up at Lake Tanada
One arm push-up...rotflmao those little critters are fun to watch, nice captures!

Thank you for saying as mucn Ivan. I got slammed pretty hard by someone on this site. Since I'm relatively a greenhorn to digital (I still have the Nikon FE 35mm but rarely use it) and I didn't know I could actually find the data on my computer! I did get a chuckle out of it after I found the info, posted it, and one feller said, "See...she found it. Now what are we supposed to do with it?" <Laf'n>
BTW...great photos.
That's it. I quit ! I'm putting my camera away. I'll just enjoy great photos like yours.
Alaskan, I don't know if Alsaka has the cutest squirrels all around, but you obviously found a couple af very photogenic ones. Great shots.
And Roadapple, I suspect the desire to take your own shots will overpower the awe your feeling towards the current batch. Photography is just another of lifes more appealing addictions.

One of the myths I keep running into is that in order to produce a decent photo you must constantly fiddle with your camera set to Manual and a top of the line equipment will guarantee you the top of the line photos. In my opinion it is better to let the camera do the work for you and therefore 99% of my photos are done in AUTO (P) and now and then in AUTO(AV) or AUTO(TV).I never use manual setting.I prefer to concentrate on my subject and compo, not on any technical data.If the situation calls for it I do compensate the exposure and bracket but still in AUTO mode.I am a renegade who thinks it is much more interesting to use nonprofessional equipment to achieve professional grade photos, absolutely hate RAW (TIFF comes close second) and consider any camera with more than around 6 Megapixels an overkill. There,I said it.Thanks for your input and looking.

Hey do not quit on yourself but increase your effort and the results will get better. Thanks for looking and also for your service to this country.
I love those shots, the fourth one looks like he is praying for a short winter. I like the fact that you are more about the shot and it's voice than the technical prowess. I feel it is my job to capture what the shot says and the cameras job to record the information. Some of my favorite shots are done on auto. Good shootin', Ivan.
Looks like Alaska does. Or Alaska just has a photographer that understands squirrels and how to show them to their best advantage.
