Last night I saw there was a rain and lightning storm coming our way from the South. I got all set up. There was only one - only one lightning bolt after I was ready. Then the storm fell apart. Well here it is.

great shot. I was driving home the other night and saw a similar awesome sight. cloud to cloud lightening is amazing to watch. You might want to spruce the shot up with a little PP magic.
FYI - One of the best Lightning Strike Photos ever .... do a Google Search on:
Lightning strike Photo, July 1993, National Geographic
I have that issue ... and it shows lightning striking a tree ... and on its way down from the sky ... it pulled up a couple of streamers from the ground .... one from a house’s tv antenna and another from a tree .... and the leader connected with one of 2 streamers from the tree ..... and then the high current return stroke happpened. This was done with a film camera ..... the guy had his camera on a tripod in his truck in the country .... shooting through his open side window .... using a cable shutter release ..... he’d open the shutter (at night) and wait for lightning to happen, close the shutter .... advance the film and get ready for the next shot .... I received that issue before leaving for a major meeting of lightning protection of aircraft experts from England, France and the U.S. ... about 24 guys to meet at Pittsfield, Massachusetts where Lightning Technologies Lightning Lab is located. I passed that magazine around to all the attendees. The above Search will show that Photo.
