Scotland is a land I have visited many times over the years and on each visit I feel even more that its different form anywhere I have visited, and of my 5 recent visit in the last year these are just three on my favourite views in Scotland.

1- The Quirang, on the northern end of The Isle of Skye.
2- Loch Arroch, from the Mam Ratagan Pass in the Western Highlands.
3- The mighty Glencoe with the Three Sisters standing proudly

OK - nice pictures, but my favorite view would surely be some of their distilleries.

Thanks APL, and you right, we always make our own travel arrangements, and yes again, I doubt if you would get these places another way? and from what I hear most of the package trips from abroad stop off at the places like Oban, perhaps one of the Islands and Edinburgh, also they will do Dublin and Belfast in Island and maybe a stop in Wales which is a shame because they miss the real side of life in these countries. I would always recommend doing a bit of research and asking around for the best places to go that interest you and organise your flight and car hire and make your own way? Another way that we do mostly ids to rent a cottage in the areas you want to visit and use it as a self catering base? or if you prefer to have all inclusive there is a company called Lochs & Glens, you will fid them on line, who have there own Hotels and coaches in various locations around the country and they have some really good organised daily trips.

Thanks APL, and you right, we always make our own ... (show quote)

Thanks. I'll look them up. I'm a bit nervous about driving on the "wrong"side of the road, so don't really want a self drive. Isn't hiring a driver really expensive?

Very dramatic, Geoff! The terrain looks brooding and ominous, but has a special beauty. And the tones and saturation in your pictures are wonderful. I've been to England but not Scotland. I can see why you're drawn to it. Did you drive on that road in the first picture? -- Jackie

Home sweet Home...my ancestry comes from northern Scotland of the Fraser clan. Your images and processing are just amazing. You were able to bring out the beauty and that's a hard job to do with landscapes. Love your work, Thanks...!

Thanks James, Your family like so many crofters from the Highlands were driven off by greedy landlords in the time of the land clearance's and there only choice was to seek a better life overseas. Have you been to Scotland to trace them?

Thanks a lot for your feedback Jackie, It a stunning country and well worth the 2 day drive from the South Coast of England where I live to see such beauty. As for the Quirang picture, we drove from the mainland to the top of Skye and parked up and walked the rest to this spot, which was not a hard walk and well worth the effort,

Outside of the city's, which by most standards are not that bad, driving in Scotland is usually very quiet and the drivers are so much more courteous thanks many countries, especially on the narrow roads where everyone drives so carefully and are so polite and courteous. last year we hired a motor home for £800 for the week and drove about 1000 miles all over the North West Highlands, it was fabulous to wake up each morning to sights like this? and most of the way we never exceed 30MPH as the scenery was just too good to go faster, but car hire is a lot less.
